TwinCAT 3: Basics (Part 1)

As the title says: This is about the basics of the TwinCAT 3 development environment from Beckhoff.

How is the development environment structured? How are the two main components XAE and XAR connected and what do XAE and XAR actually mean?

We go into detail about how the XAE is structured and which modules you can use in the XAR. We explain how the two components communicate with each other and how the output, fieldbus, of the XAR works.

We also answer the question what is the difference between "TwinCAT Standard" and "TwinCAT Integrated", so you can decide which kind of integration in Visual Studio fits best to your project.
