Global service and software support secured, not only for Manz machines

Leipzig, July 7, 2025 – ekvip automation GmbH has acquired Manz USA Inc., based in North Kingstown, Rhode Island (USA), as part of a share deal. The acquisition was carried out in close cooperation with the insolvency administrator of Manz AG. As a result, customers worldwide now have a reliable partner for service, support, and software solutions for all Manz machines, regardless of the age or location of the equipment.

Manz AG was a global developer of production solutions for lithium-ion batteries, electronic components, and devices—particularly in the automotive, e-mobility, electronics, and energy and battery technology sectors. The company ceased operations as part of regular insolvency proceedings that were initiated on February 24, 2025, and is currently being wound up.

ekvip not only has many years of experience in the service sector, but also in its extensive software expertise in automation. The company has been developing software solutions for Manz systems for many years – this expertise now forms the basis for a comprehensive portfolio of customized software solutions, upgrades, and digital retrofits.

The acquisition further expands ekvip's international presence. Frank Müller, former managing director of Manz USA, will remain on board and continue to run the US site. Andreas Hollenhorst, former service manager at Manz AG, joined the ekvip team in February and heads up the service and after-sales division.

Manz USA currently employs six people and will continue to operate as an independent location under the umbrella of ekvip automation GmbH.

Manz USA is now part of the ekvip family and ready for a strong new start under a new flag.
